More than 50 years ago, Diane Cournoyer began teaching dance to neighborhood children in the basement of her Northborough home. Her love and passion for the art form has propelled Diane Cournoyer Dance Studio into one of the areas premiere dance studios, but with the heart and soul of a local, family business. Today, Diane and daughter Michelle (who has been teaching dance since the age of 14) welcome students from ages 2 and up to their studio for classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Irish Step, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Hip Hop and Down with Dance —a unique class designed for children with Down Syndrome.
Whether a child chooses to dance as a hobby, or dance competitively, they will leave Diane Cournoyer with far more than a mastery of steps and techniques. They will develop grace and poise, self-respect and determination, and the confidence to tackle any challenge. What’s more, they will learn the importance of teamwork, and the value of patience and discipline.
