Friends of Families in Transition is a 501 c (3) organization dedicated to helping families going through a transitional time in their lives, feel important and cared about.
Friends of FIT was formed in 2011 in response to the needs of families living in emergency motel shelter in Northborough, MA. Since then, the organization has been asked to assist with coordination of services at several other motel shelter sites. Friends of FIT is now recognized as a state-wide model for groups looking to deliver services to families both compassionately and effectively, while at the same time protecting the privacy and safety of everyone.
In central MA, Friends of FIT also frequently serves as a hands-on point of contact, information, and assistance for families struggling with maintaining housing or contemplating entry into the Emergency Assistance program.
