It’s everything Applefest this weekend – the biggest celebration of the year that brings the entire community together for activities, events, shopping, food and fun. There is something for everybody and every age. View the official website for the entire and up-to-date schedule of events.

Friday, September 14:

  • Northborough Free Library is hosting the Brenner Family Magic Show for your little ones at 10:30 am. Registration is required at 508-393-5025.
  • Friends of the Northborough Library’s two-day, sidewalk booksale starts today. Stock up for your fall reading.

Saturday, September 15:

  • Hurricane Florence is south of us so it will be a beautiful morning to run the Applefest 5K and then justify stopping for a few treats afterwards at the Rotary Street Fair on Blake Street or the Northboro Junior Woman’s Apple Pie Cafe at Trinity Church.
  • Meet the Northborough Fire Department team during their Open House.
  • Meet Snow White at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., between 10 am – 1 pm. There will be games and crafts too.
  • Celebrate the location of the new Town Common with its second annual farmer’s market. Over 20 vendors, food trucks, and music. Be aware of parking restrictions.
  • There is family fun waiting for you at Church of the Nativity (12 – 4 pm) and Trinity Church (9 am – 3 pm).
  • Stop by the Craftworks Sidewalk Sale between 10 am-4 pm for great deals on gift items, books,  yarn, and lots more!
  • If you need a little family quiet time away from the downtown area, take a hike on  Edmonds Hill Trail starting at 12 noon with the Northborough Trails Committee, or stop in at the Northborough Historical Society, 52 Main St., for a building tour or to see the Art and Bloom Show sponsored by Northborough Garden Club and Northboro Art Guild, 12-4 p.m.
  • At 4 pm, head over to Algonquin Regional High School for music, food, games, activities and the awesome fireworks show! Be sure to stop by the Diane Cournoyer Dance Center Booth for face painting!

Sunday, September 16:

  • Pancakes served by the Boy Scouts start your day at the American Legion and the Taste of Northborough will end the weekend’s festivities at Melican Middle School featuring area restaurants.
  • View classic cars at the new location of the show at Times Square Shopping Plaza (Romaine’s plaza) starting at 10 am.
  • Northborough Cultural Council’s first annual Culture Fest of Music & Arts will showcase musicians, dancers, artists, food trucks, and a kids’ corner.
  • Kids, grab your bags, the Applefest parade kicks off from Lincoln Street at 2 pm and there is candy to be caught.
